Mindful Meditation Heals Beyond What You Know

Mindful Meditation Heals Beyond What You Know

Many of us have formally tried  mindfulness or meditation at some point in our lives. Every religion has some kind of contemplative practice that includes meditation, chanting, prayer and reflection.

Mindfulness and meditation has become so popular that it has been introduced into schools, in the  work place,  at home and, there are  also many  online meditation courses, and  places where you can go on mindfulness and meditation retreats.

Meditation and mindfulness can provide calming benefits after a long hard day, help reduce anxiety, produce better performance at work and make us feel happy.  However meditation and mindfulness can go far beyond this.

Let’s learn more about mindful meditation courses and how these courses can help you to let go of your anxious and self harming thoughts, and  how to stop carrying around those harmful stories in your mind.

What’s the Definition of Meditation?

According to the Oxford Dictionary, meditation is the process of meditating. If we dig deeper, meditating means that we focus our minds on specific positive thoughts for a certain period of time.

This may involve being seated a certain way, having our eyes closed, and chanting a specific phrase to help us to focus. This process may be done once a day or more. Certainly, we can benefit from meditation on a regular basis, but it’s more than you think.

However this is a western way of looking at meditation and mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation that is accredited to the Buddha, simply means a person who is awake, and makes it clear that meditation is everything we do.

This is the intersectionality of mindfulness and meditation. When we are practicing meditation we are more mindful of all our actions, which can involve walking, standing, sitting or lying down.

Dancing, playing a sport, cooking, singing, anything where we cultivate a mindful awareness of coming back to the task in hand can be a form of meditation.

Are There Different Meditation Types?

There are two main categories of meditation. Samatha meditation which are mindful practices to help calm the nervous system and our emotions. And some of these meditations may be accompanied by music, mantras, and or white noise.

There are also the practices of loving-kindness and compassion. The other category is Vipassana, which means insight meditation, mindful practices to help us see things as they really are, rather than how we want to see things.

Seeing clearly that our stories, perceptions and interpretations are often illusions, and fabrications rather than what has actually happened or is happening in real time.

However Samatha practices can turn into Vipassana practices. And chanting is also a form of meditation to help us cultivate more positive mental and emotional states.

All of these practices can help to end suffering, the proliferation of thought, cultivate more freedom from our body, mind, heart and bring about enlightenment, Nirvana.

It’s important to realize states of enlightenment and Nirvana are right here now, there is no where to go, we can be in Samsara a state of conflict, dissatisfaction right now, or be in a state of peace right now.

Buddhists do not have the monopoly on Mindful meditation. Many cultures and religions have meditative and mindful practices.

And there are many different types of self-healing schools that offer meditation from their particular religious and or spiritual tradition. You do not have to subscribe to any religion to be able to do mindful meditation. You just need to have this human body.

If you have an interest in meditation than you may be considering online Buddhist meditation courses, or Vipassana meditation courses. There are also other types.

The body, heart and mind are all interconnected, and each affects the other.

If you’re a bit confused over how meditation online classes can help to improve your mental and physical health, that is why I’m here to assist you. And many people may have trouble following instructions in a book, or an online YouTube video.

Everyone can benefit from my online meditation course to assist you with any type of addiction.

Why Addiction Is Our Number One Concern

People don’t suddenly become drug or alcohol addicts out of the blue. There are often years of issues leading up to this mental health condition.

While there are other treatment plans, such as the 12 Step Alcoholics Anonymous program, there are also other options out there. Whether you’re uncertain where to start, or if the 12-step program isn’t right for you, or perhaps has failed to assist you in the past, there are other options.

These include the Eight Step Recovery plan, as well as including meditation online classes as part of the healing process.

But I don’t expect you to start alone. I’m here to assist you, which begins by signing up for my Newsletter, and learning more about my mindfulness meditation courses.

How I Can Help?

You may be wondering how I can help, especially if you’re already signed up for AA or do meditation after work.

Recovering from addiction is a bit trickier than beginning specific activities focused on your recovery.

Yes, the acknowledgement of your problem and taking time for yourself is important. But it’s even more important to understand why you are where you are now. I can assist you with your mindful meditation courses by helping your find out why you are experiencing issues. Many of our adult issues go way back to when we were children.

Our childhood conditioning can teach us hateful things, including abuse and terror. It’s important to acknowledge these and stop believing the stories that were instilled into us.

We have to remember that we are no longer the child who was bullied, abused, assaulted or teased. We are adult now and can begin to take care of the wounded inner child.

If you are young and reading this, I encourage you to reach to some youth and  adolescent counselling and take a look at my book a First Aid Kit For The Mind.

In fact all of you could benefit from  this book, or Detox Your Heart – Meditations for emotional healing, or Eight Step Recovery, Using the Buddha’s teaching to overcome addiction.

The second way to help is to remember that we are not broken, nothing needs to be fixed. We are perhaps a wounded healer, we can begin to heal  by releasing our old stories, stepping out of our stories, retiring our stories, or putting them on the shelf and begin to bring into our awareness more positive possibilities and stories.

Why obsess over something that happened two decades or more ago? It’s done and chances are anyone who was involved is no longer in your life.

There are many other ways I can assist you in getting unstuck from these negative experiences. You have to put these old stories to rest.
